**Upcoming Scheduler Changes**

The UNIVA Grid Scheduler license expires on May 8th, 2016 and it is not being renewed due to budgetary considerations. We will be switching to the Son of Grid Engine (SGE) Grid scheduler (open-source software) on May 9th, 2016. To perform the necessary changes, the cluster will be shutdown on Monday, May 9th 2016 at 7am. We hope to have the cluster available for use again on May 10th, 2016.

Once we switch over to SGE, users will be able to use the current wrapper scripts and will not notice much change.

The “all-LoPri.q” and “bigmem-LoPri.q” will be drained on May 3rd, 2016. The short run time queues will be drained on May 8th, 2016. All jobs still running at 7am on May 9th will be killed.

We will be moving to SLURM grid scheduler, which is also an open source software, this summer. More details about that change will be sent out by June 2016.
